FOOTHILLS PAINTERS

Lonny McSherley has been oil painting since 1986. He studied briefly under the late Phyllis Whitworth, a well-known Indiana artist, and then developed his own style over time. He travels extensively in the United States and Canada and often paints a scene from a place he visits.  

 

Born in Indiana, Lonny has lived and worked in Evansville and Indianapolis, Indiana; Kankakee, Illinois; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Sycamore and Mansfield, Ohio; and Conover, North Carolina. He began using Soft Pastel in 2020 and finds the medium very fluid and vivid.  

 

Lonny has worked in retail grocery management and as pastor of five different churches.  He loves painting scenes from nature in oil, pastel or mixed media.  His paintings have been displayed in Catawba, NC and The Furniture Mart in Hickory, NC as well as in his LonzArt Gallery.  He hopes you will enjoy his work.
